Wuhan, China
The towers at Riverview Plaza will be among some of the tallest buildings in Wuhan. At a height of 460 meters, they will be landmark buildings, expressing the emergence of Wuhan as the political, economic and cultural center of Central China.
The development consists of three towers ranging in height from 460 meters (A1), 190 meters (A3) to 160 meters (A2). Both A2 and A3 towers are designed foroffice occupancy with 21 and 28 leasable office floors respectively. A1 Tower is designed for mixed use occupancy with 45 leasable office floors and a five-star hotel (15 hotel floors) with breathtaking views of the City and the River.
The design of the exterior wall for the three towers is a contemporary interpretation of traditional decorative elements of Chinese architecture. The artful patterns on the curtain wall are inspired by patterns of traditional decorative window screens in Chinese architecture. The vision glass panels will consist of energy efficient double glazing units complying with the requirements of LEED standard.
At the base of the development is a four level retail podium. The roof terrace at Level 5 will be occupied by a convention center, Cineplex, restaurants and outdoor cafes. The scale and design of the podium responds to the urban character of the site. The mix of urban squares and pedestrian streets and the extensive presence of trees and other green elements contribute to the making of Wuhan Tiandi as a successful urban addition to Wuhan. Trees, trellis covers and flowers will be extended to the design of Riverview Plaza. The roof podium of Riverview Plaza is designed as an outdoor garden in the sky where the citizens of Wuhan can enjoy wonderful views of the green belt at Wuhan Tiandi and a glimpse of Yangtze River and the Second Bridge. |
