早在两千多年前,岭南地区的番禺、徐闻、合浦就因其优越的地理条件,发展成为三大贸易港口。进入明清时期,粤商作为继徽商、晋商之后崛起的另一股强大的商业力量,他们对近现代中国的影响远远超越了传统商人单纯逐利的原始边界。因此,当近代工业文明的火车发明之后,粤汉、广三、广九、新宁、潮汕铁路便在南粤大地顺应而生。
2,000 years ago, Panyu, Xuwen and Hepu in Lingnan area developed into three major trade ports due to their superior geographical conditions. In the Ming and Qing dynasties, the Cantonese merchants, rising as another powerful commercial force after Huizhou merchants and Shanxi merchants, had a far-reaching influence on modern China beyond the original boundary of pure profit pursuit of traditional merchants. Therefore, after the modern industrial civilization gave birth to trains, Canton-Hankow Railway, Guangzhou-Sanshui Railway, Guangzhou-Kowloon Railway, Sunning Railway and Chaozhou-Shantou Railway emerged in southern Guangdong. |
