Trump International Hotel & Tower in Baku, Azerbaijan, is on schedule to complete in 2015. The 33-floor landmark will be located on Hasan Aliyev Street in the Nasimi District, and will feature 72 luxury residences and 189 hotel rooms. With its incredible location neighboring the Zaha Hadid-designed cultural institution, the Heydar Aliyev Center, the tower will have spectacular views of the city and Caspian Sea.

Soaring 33 stories above the Caspian Sea, Trump Baku is meant to be an oasis in the midst of a bustling cityscape, located on 20,000 square meters of land and surrounded by expansive gardens, fountains, and promenades. Located at a major crossroad, Trump Baku anchors the Eastern Gateway into the center of the city. The exterior façade has a distinctive and striking silhouette, resembling the mast of a sail in high seas, and is comprised of metallic bronze panels, glass openings, and private terraces. The design of the tower is being spearheaded by Mixity Design Ltd., headquartered in London, UK, with the construction being carried out by Garant Holding.

Mixity Design Ltd. has created an aesthetic that blends classic and contemporary inspirations with an urban edge. Neutral grays, deep brown tones, and soft textures are punctuated with high notes of purple, blues, and black. Polished metal, beveled mirrors, and crisp stonework play on contrasts with the soft textiles and furnishings. Each interior space offers its own mood and character, with varying shades and finishes of natural stone, wood veneers, and lacquered surfaces.

The commercial areas of the building will serve both residents and hotel guests. Luxury amenities will include a 1,409 square-meter spa with indoor swimming pools, 400 square-meter fitness center, 1,950 square-meter business center, 147 square meters of exclusive retail, and a signature restaurant with a globally acclaimed restaurateur. Outdoor dining and entertaining will be a defining experience at Trump Baku, with a variety of spaces that feature garden settings for meals.

Three of the tallest residential towers in the country, situated yards from each other in South Quay, were approved in a tense meeting at Tower Hamlets.

The strategic planning committee also turned down the proposed Quay House scheme over density fears.

However, councilors gave the thumbs up to the South Quay Plaza scheme, at 220 meters, alongside the Arrowhead Quay development.

Over 100 people packed into the chamber at Mulberry Place on Thursday night for the four-hour meeting, in which a number of residents and Isle of Dogs councilors spoke out against the towers.

Quay House, a 233-meter development, had been recommended for rejection by planning officers in order to avoid overdeveloping the site. Those views were backed by the Greater London Authority in the consultation.

Representation was made by the public, with Isle of Dogs resident Sarah Castro telling the committee she was concerned for children living in the proposed towers.

"Two hundred twenty-seven children will be living there and the leisure space is the size of a postage stamp," she said. "I've raised children in a tall building and it's extremely stressful.”

"We need to get developers to raise their game and build developments that will enhance communities."

The development would have 888 apartments in two towers - one of 68 floors and the other of 36.

Berkeley's Harry Lewis defended the scheme from criticisms of overdevelopment. "Over half of the site will be given over to public realm," he said.

The committee approved the plan by four votes to two.

It is the second-highest building to receive planning permission in the country, after the neighboring City Pride at 239 meters.

Councilors also gave the green light to the Arrowhead Quay development. The Ballymore-owned site will include towers of 55 and 50 stories and will have 756 homes.

On November 5, Forest City revealed the first architectural designs for one of the largest proposed developments in the city, the 5M project, which will add 1.5 million square feet (1.4 million square meters) of new offices and housing on the four acres (1.6 hectares) around the San Francisco Chronicle building.

Architects Kohn Pederson Fox Associates aimed to blend textured angles and heights with colors and materials similar to what people see in the area surrounding 5th, Mission, and Howard streets in SoMA.

"What we've done is ask, ‘How do you marry this with existing fabric you see with historic buildings that already have brick and timber that people see in South of Market today? How are we not just introducing a glassy high-rise tower?” said Audrey Tendell, project development director for Forest City.

The proposed development is set to go in front of the Planning Commission for a presentation later in November, with detailed community meetings in the coming weeks.

It will require significant up-zoning and the creation of a special-use district, as the area is regulated by 160-foot (49-meter) height limits. The developer is also pushing more plans that allow it to tilt its mix of uses in favor of offices over housing. It prefers to build 871,900 square feet (81,000 square meters) of office space and 914 housing units, rather than 598,500 square feet (56,000 square meters) of office space and 1,209 housing units, as would be dictated by current zoning.

A 26-story housing scheme designed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop has been approved to sit alongside the architect’s Shard skyscraper and The Place.

The project close to London Bridge station will include 148 new flats, a roof garden, around 1,800 square meters of shops, and 1,200 square meters of new public space.

The structure will occupy a 0.3-hectare site, replacing the 1950s Fielden House office building on London Bridge Street and a neighboring 1980s office building. It will sit west of The Shard and south of The Place - now rebranded The News Building.

On November 4, members of Southwark Council’s planning committee gave their backing to the proposals, which form the latest phase of the London Bridge Quarter project being developed by Sellar Properties and REM.

A statement from Sellar said the new building would “float” above the streetscape, offering “improved site lines” connecting it with Guy’s Hospital Quad and The News Building, as well as an open terrace wrapping around the base of the building.

Work is expected to get underway at the end of next year, for completion toward the end of 2018.

Piano’s team is working with Dan Pearson Design Studio on the public realm landscaping.

President Pranab Mukherjee will lay the foundation of the 213-meter Sri Krishna temple in Vrindavan on November 16, which backers say will be the world’s tallest.

Construction work has already begun on the piling for the pillars of the Chandrodaya Mandir, using the latest technology. The chief project director Bharat Prabhu, who keeps shuttling between Vrindavan and Bangalore, said "The Rs 300 crore (US $49 million) project…will take five years. We are using the world's latest technology and engineering processes to ensure a minimum life of 500 years for the gigantic structure that will go a long way to promote and nourish Sri Krishna consciousness, especially among the youth."

The project is conceptualized and is being executed by ISKCON from Bangalore, which is partnering with Akshaya Patra, the world's largest non-governmental organization (NGO), which runs midday meal programs in the country feeding over a million school children every day.

Prabhu said "this is a culturally and socially driven project which aims to put Vrindavan and India on the world map of iconic heritage structures. The project also employs many technologically innovative solutions to ensure environmental sustainability."

This grand temple will harmoniously combine elements of both Indian temple architecture and modern architecture. A look-alike of the verdant forests of Vrindavan, consisting of twelve forests, will be recreated around the temple. Water from the Yamuna will be lifted and pumped to the meandering rivulet that will allow for boating and support aquatic life particular to the Braj area.
